sons of the dragon debuted last year on a mysterious white vinyl double out of detroit, they awake again to bring us >the journey of qui niu< and cast their firey wrath. the cv313 rework plays off the original version but adds a low end throb so deep it could shake the heavens, a rhythmic shuffle which begs you to move and a hypnotizing symphony of lo fi sonic destruction, its totally menacing. the new sqx project debuts with a killer, taking a different approach to the original, they use the synthesized textures as warm sonic fragments. its as if they were building a sonic puzzle but changing all the pieces around while assembling, leaving us with a rhythmic synth workout of the highest order, for your mind or the floor. a destined to be classic, do not miss

strongest release yet on polymeric, a label that just goes from strength to strength. techno hero d.a.v.e. the drummer kicks everything off with offline a huge analogue attack in his trademark style that will not disappoint. albert kraner of mental torment and killfactory records delivers my techno thoughts with rock hard beats and dark vocals that indeed rocks. flip for label boss maxx dropping like this a wicked slice of funky techno that still has a warehouse feel to it. rising austrian talent and co owner of carbon audio, polymerics sister label, finishes off the ep perfectly with millennium a grinding slab of tuff techno that will slam the floor!

the runners are a new project by our man lukas who has been with dirt crew and players paradise from the beginning and his buddy kevin cook. both young and very talented producers who teamed up to drop some delicious deep house on the next dirt crew release. kevin just made the move to ibiza while bristol based lukas is very succesful in running his buoyancy parties over there. with >hot fun< and >woman pleaser< coming in two different deep mixes this ep is one for the house lovers, taking dirt crew more and more towards the soulfull and groovy path of the new house movement. to top things off we asked another rising star in the scene and one of our favourite producers at this moment jay shepheard (compost, diynamic, drumpoet community) who recently made the move from london to berlin. he delivers a great remix with a deep sub bass and a lush chord filled groove… you will love it

after the superb best of chaz jankel on their sister label tirk last year, nang are grinning ear to ear for the second release with some top flight remixes featuring big names all the way. first up is rekids regular toby tobias and the slick discoid grooving interpretation of call me. fresh from the success of their final electric chair comp the unabombers weigh in with their bouncy walking bass take on one of 2007s top disco tunes get myself together. to round things off a 3rd big name diesel from xpress 2 chills things out and delivers his stripped down after hours version. nang is out of the gates and running folks.

10inch !!!! this is something special. 10 years after its very limited release (simply due to a low budget and limited sales expectations, not to try and make the record scarce), norm talleys the journey is picked up by a a few hip berlin djs, and a fire starts with the record being offered on ebay for over €100.00, because nobody can find a copy. even norm had to borrow a copy when he went to dj in berlin and the berlin party crowd had already asked him to confirm if he was bringing the record..no joke. so here is that tune, the journey, now re-mastered by stefan betke and cut by andreas@schnittstelle, and sounding very nice. on the flip is the unreleased in yo soul, chosen by third ear to complement the journey and complete a full on in your face piece of norm talley groove. and to round it off, its on a 10. cool and compact. just like norm, who is known in the dj circles of detroit as a secret weapon.. need your party fixing?... call norm talley. serge at clone kindly added a few words... nice re-issue of an obscure dj favorite produced by norm talley and previously released on the nouveau riche label from detroit. here you have two tracks that turn out to be great dj tracks when played out loud. the journey somehow got lost in obscurity. but luckily someone was clever enough to get it back out again, together with the previously unreleased in yo soul, and here they are... 10 inches of pleasure! pure detroit house music as we like it

kyle hall graces us with another jazzy off kilter ear catching release, except this time hes not alone. kyle and four other young midwest musicians come together as bsmnt city anymle kontrol for the title track the perfekt sin, a real soul hitter. one of them is dorian fiddler son of heavy weight detroit producer amp fiddler, letting loose on live drums at age 17. love kontrol is an emotion steering eccentric groover thats sure to excite the senses with its elegant uplifting melodies. oatn out is a rhythm challenging avant garde dusty retarded joint that is a must listen to for the people who enjoy breaking the tempo and arent afraid to throw your average 4 on floor pocket out the window.

strong 4 track ep with electro / techhouse

played by brothers vibe, mike shannon, sebo k... from the beginning, marks dave hughes second ep release for palette. the three songs offer different variations on a single theme. from the beginning starts things off with classic sounding chords and punchy drums. from the start follows the theme in a more stripped down fashion, adding vocoded percussion with a powerful stab. start over continues in a more tricked out percussive form with clever programming and synth stabs. in all a club friendly three tracker and great follow up to his first ep on palette titled lets do it, the title track having recently been featured as the first track on john tejadas fabric 44 cd. dave is originally from ireland, but currently lives in los angeles. he has been djing since the age of 15, initially in dublin clubs along side many well known house djs. hes also made his way touring around europe, australia, asia and the us. he joined the current list of palette artists in the summer of 2007 with his first vinyl release lets do it. hes currently working on new productions with more soon to come.

la roux, with her dynamic combination of vulnerable emotive lyrics, snaking off kilter synths and killer hooks, steps up to claim her thrown as the new pop princess. the trademark sound of the red haired one continues to mark her out in a class of her own.

244 km!! thats the distance between berlin and hamburg. this is what hauke freer and matthias reiling do as often as possible to visit each others studios and start fighting over bass lines and kick drums. after some top notch releases on the real soon and morris audio record labels we are very pleased to welcome a four tracker from the duo at hairy claw hq. the boys open up the ep with swashbuckler, hypnotic, minimal grooves with snatches of percussion and spun in samples. very go round carries on the minimal grooves but juxtaposes jazzy snatches and wonky stabs. foot the bill introduces tribal rhythms and samples, whilst drum fest black betty rounds things off with a percussive and left field slant. a varied and impressive debut from hauke and matthias on hairy claw.

in 2002, carl craig was at the centre of a collaboration between some of detroits most talented musicians old and new, including motown session players percy hughes and ron otis - the result of which was the spellbinding detroit experiment. one of the highlights of this session was their re-interpretation of donald byrd and larry mizells classic think twice, which was transformed into a sublime and unique jazz-house hybrid by this disparate ensemble of techno and r&b heavyweights. to continue the theme laid down by the detroit experiment, we have enlisted the skills of the multi-talented henrik schwarz - no stranger to fusing musical styles. his amazing remix effortlessly combines organic and electronic elements, to create a stirring piece of modern electronic dance music which has already taken the roof off parties across europe and the us, with pre-release plays from djs as diverse as ame, giles smith, justin martin, dixon and kev beadle.

formed in 1997 by philipp albrecht (guitar), rene albrecht (drums) and christoph lenz (bass) - singer christian erne entered the band in 2000. since he left plenty enuff in 2007 philipp albrecht and jessica sigfalk took the micro power. plenty enuff have been experimenting with sounds from the sixties for almost ten years. starting off with a traditional type of ska they soon switched to a dark blend of roots reggae. their large amount of shows already brought them to the jazz festival of montreux this year.
